Depot
A regiment's headquarters, for example the DLI's Depot was once at Brancepeth Castle.
Division
The main fighting unit of the British Army with its own artillery, infantry and transport eg 50th Northumbrian Division. During WW1, there were over 70 British Divisions, each with 18,000 soldiers and led by a Major General.
