Joseph White

Born in County Durham, both Joseph White and his father joined the Durham Militia in February 1808. In April 1809, Joseph White volunteered for the 68 Regiment and served in the Peninsular War at Salamanca, Vittoria, St. Sebastian and Orthes. He was discharged in April 1816, having been in a civil prison for the previous three months - crime unknown.
