Nicholas G Temperley

Born in Newburn on Tyne, he enlisted in the DLI in 1943 and served in either the 10th or 11th Battalion DLI with the 49th Division. He also served with No. 2 Commando during the Second World War. He became a Regular soldier with the 1st Battalion DLI before the Korean War and then served two full tours with 1 DLI and The King's Shropshire Light Infantry. He later served in Cyprus and Aden before retiring in 1965 with the rank of WO2 (Warrant Officer). Nick Temperley died in 1988
