John William Plews

Born in Sadberge, near Darlington, in 1862, he enlisted as a Private at Sunderland in 1880. He fought in Egypt, as a Sergeant, with 2 DLI. He transferred to the Reserve in 1886 and was discharged in 1901. In civilian life, he was a postman at Middlesbrough. His son, Isaac, fought with 2 DLI in the Great War.
