Biography

He joined the 2 West Yorkshire Militia in February 1808 and volunteered for the 68 Regiment in April 1809. He fought throughout the Peninsular War - at Salamanca, Vittoria, Pyrenees, St. Sebastian, Nivelle and Orthes. Benjamin Pickels was discharged from the 68 Regiment in April 1816.
