George W Mortimer

George Mortimer first served as a Volunteer in "G" Company, 2nd Volunteer Battalion DLI at Spennymoor. During the Boer War, he served with the 2nd Volunteer Service Company attached to the 1st Battalion DLI in South Africa from April 1901 to April 1902 under the command of Captain Cook. After 1908, when the Volunteers became Territorials, he served as a Sergeant in the 6th Battalion DLI.
