Henry Monk

Born in Dagenham, Essex, he was a labourer before he enlisted in 1844, aged 20 years. He was posted to the 2 Bombay European LI and served in Persia and the Indian Mutiny. In 1861, he volunteered for the 106 Light Infantry and was discharged in 1865. Henry Monk was admitted to Chelsea Hospital in 1888 and died in 1891.
