George King

Born near Warwick, he was a labourer before he enlisted in the 68th Light Infantry in 1858, aged 18 years. He was rapidly promoted and served in New Zealand as a Colour Sergeant.
In 1874, he transferred to the Staff of the 3rd Brigade Depot at Sunderland, as Quarter Master Sergeant. He finally retired from the Army in 1878.
