Sidney Frank Fricker

Born in 1878, he enlisted as a Private in the 7th Hussars and fought in the Boer War. After 22 years in the ranks, he qualified at the Royal School of Military Music, Kneller Hall and was appointed Bandmaster of the 1st Battalion DLI in 1916. He served in India with 1 DLI during the Great War and in Afghanistan. He finally retired at Catterick in 1932.
