Biography

He enlisted as a Private in the 68 LI at Galway in 1849, aged 19 years. He fought in the Crimea and gained the Distinguished Conduct Medal in 1855 and the French Legion of Honour in 1856. William Fletcher died of disease in Burma in 1859.
