John Fido

Born in St. Marylebone, London, he was a labourer before he joined the 2 Bombay European LI in 1840, aged 18 years. He fought in Persia and the Indian Mutiny and volunteered for the 106 Light Infantry in 1861. He took his discharge in 1862 and returned home to London.
