Patrick Carrick

Born in Dublin, he was a labourer before he enlisted in the DLI in 1881, aged 19 years. He fought in Egypt with 2 DLI and in the Hazara campaign of 1891 in India - one of only two men of 2 DLI who took part in this minor campaign. In 1892, he transferred to 2 Dragoon Guards and was finally discharged in 1894.
