George Featherstone

Born in Stockton, he was a labourer before he enlisted as a Regular soldier in the DL1 in 1892, aged 19 years. He joined the 2nd Battalion DLI in India and remained there until February 1902, when he was posted to 1 DLI in South Africa for the last few months of the Boer War. In November 1902, he joined the Reserve and was discharged from the Army in 1904.
