Edward Duckworth

Eddy Duckworth enlisted in the 1st Battalion DLI in 1950 and, during his long Army career, served with this battalion on all it major tours - in Korea, Egypt, Cyprus, Berlin, Hong Kong and Borneo. In 1968, whilst part of the United Nations force on Cyprus, the 1st Battalion DLI became the 4th Battalion The Light Infantry. He then became RSM of The Light Infantry TA at Bishop Auckland before transferring, as RSM, to the Ulster Defence Force in 1970. Eddy Duckworth died in August 2005.
