William Swales

From Sunderland, Private William Swales served with the 7th Battalion DLI - his local Territorial battalion - during the First World War. Wounded during the Battle of the Somme, he died of his wounds at No 8 General Hospital at Rouen in France on 8 November 1916. William Swales was 24 years old.
