Robert Jones Darwin Learoyd

He served in the 16th Battalion DLI during the Second World War and was killed in action at Serra Ridge on 3 September 1944 in Northern Italy during the final shattering of the German Army's Gothic Line defenses.

He was 33 years old and was buried in Coriano Ridge War Cemetery, Italy. Robert Learoyd left a widow, Florence, back home in Billingham.
