Lewis Alfred Bittlestone

Born in Sunderland he enlisted in the 7th Battalion DLI - the local territorial Battalion - and was awarded the Military Medal on 9 December 1916 whilst serving as a Sergeant.

Lewis Bittlestone died of wounds at his home in Sunderland on 5 October 1918 and is buried in Bishopwearmouth Cemetery.
