Biography

Born in 1839, he enlisted in the 68 LI at Derby in 1858. He served in the New Zealand War as a Corporal and, in 1875, was promoted to Orderly Room Clerk & Colour Sergeant. On 1 January 1877, he was awarded the Empress of India Medal to mark the proclamation of Queen Victoria as Empress of India. Only one such silver medal was given to each regiment serving in India. Thomas Lambert died on 6 January 1877 at Nusseerabad, India.
