Edward Hart

From South Shields, Edward Hart enlisted as a Regular soldier in The Durham Light Infantry in 1901 and rose to the rank of Bugle Major. In 1916 he was awarded the Military Medal for his bravery whilst serving with the 2nd Battalion DLI on the Western Front. He finally retired from the Army in 1920.
