Biography

Major Reginald Wood MC TD served with 5 Battalion DLI during the First World War. Whilst attached to 19 (Service) Battalion DLI, he attacked a farm under heavy fire, capturing 3 machine-guns and 30 prisoners; for this action he was awarded the Military Cross. Amongst his other medals, he was first awarded the Territorial Decoration in 1943, but subsequently received two Elizabeth II Bars for this medal.
