George Appleby

Born in Ferryhill, he was living in Hetton-le-hole when he enlisted at Houghton-le-Spring into the 19th (Bantams) Battalion DLI. George Appleby, who was married, died of wounds on 13 May 1916, aged 25. He is buried in Merville Communal Cemetery.
